grandes atuações nas finais, Leonardo Barcelos, de Imbituba/SC, e
Carolina Miranda, de Saquarema/RJ, saíram na frente nas disputas pelos
títulos do Rip Curl Grom Search, apresentado por Guaraná Antarctica,
neste domingo (24), nas ondas da Praia da Ferrugem, em Garopaba/SC. Os
dois venceram as categorias para atletas mais velhos, com até 16 anos, a
mirim e a feminina, respectivamente, que garantem aos campeões do
Circuito as vagas para representar o Brasil na final internacional, em
2017, em algum lugar do Mundo.
Nas
outras duas categorias em ação, vitórias paulistas, com Daniel Adisaka,
de Ubatuba, na iniciante (limite de 14 anos) e Rodrigo Saldanha, da
capital, na grommet (sub12). Com sol, praia lotada e ondas de um metro, a
competição reuniu mais de 100 surfistas de sete estados.
Junto
às disputas acirradas, os participantes tiveram muita diversão, com
distribuição de pipas, degustação de Guaraná Antarctica, pintura de
pranchas na Casa Guaraná Antarctica, além do inovador Campeonato de Sup
Guaraná Antarctica, comprovando o slogan “Muito mais do que um
campeonato de Surf”. Houve, também, a distribuição de mudas nativas para
o público na praia, no programa Rip Curl Planet, de conscientização
socioambiental.
Mas
sem dúvida, a grande atração aconteceu sábado, com o campeão mundial
Gabriel Medina na praia, interagindo com a garotada, no mesmo evento
onde iniciou a sua trajetória vencedora. Ele incentivou a nova geração e
também ficou de olho na irmã caçula, Sophia Medina, que aos dez anos,
estreou no Circuito. O dia decisivo da etapa começou com grandes
atuações, como o catarinense Mateus Herdy, garantindo a melhor
apresentação do evento, com nota 9,80, para somar 18,70 de 20 pontos
possíveis.
Antes
das finais, um momento de total descontração o Campeonato de Sup, para
reforçar o espirito de amizade, um dos pontos fortes do Circuito, unido
com a atitude #Boralá, novo posicionamento da Guaraná Antarctica que
incentiva os consumidores a assumirem o protagonismo de sua história
para viverem experiências inesquecíveis. Foram quatro equipes, cada uma
com seis atletas, que remavam juntos numa grande prancha de borracha,
proporcionando momentos de muita descontração.
Depois,
foi a vez das decisões, todas com grandes performances. Dos 16
finalistas nas quatro baterias, uma disputa à parte, com sete atletas de
SP e seis de SC. Entre os destaques, Eduardo Motta, de Guarujá, que
chegou em duas finais, ficando em segundo em ambas.
A
primeira bateria foi dos caçulas da grommet. O paulista Caio Costa
liderou praticamente toda a disputa, mas no final Rodrigo Saldanha, que
mora em São Paulo e treina em Maresias e Guarujá, virou o resultado com
uma onda 6,90 (precisava 6,60). “Aqui é um circuito brasileiro e ganhei
do Caio, que é meu rival nas finais. Não acredito que virei”, vibrou o
atleta de 11 anos, chorando, junto com o pai, Richard. Em terceiro ficou
Leo Casal, seguido de Caetano Silveira, ambos catarinenses.
Na
iniciante, Daniel Adisaka garantiu o primeiro lugar com uma nota sete e
depois um 8,5. O também paulista Eduardo Motta, ficou em segundo, com o
catarinense Walley Guimarães em terceiro e outro atleta de SP, Vinicius
Parra, completando o pódio. “Foi sensacional. Não esperava esse
resultado, mas estava surfando bem, com a prancha no pé e quero
agradecer à minha família e Deus”, destacou o competidor de 13 anos.
Na
final feminina, Carolina Miranda deu um show, primeiro com uma nota
oito e depois não deixou dúvidas com um 7,4. A paulista Louisie Frumento
ficou em segundo lugar, com a catarinense Manuela Pacheco em terceiro e
a carioca Maju Freitas em quarto. “Foi demais. Esse campeonato é muito,
mas muito legal mesmo. Eu treinei bastante para conseguir chegar aqui e
fazer um bom resultado. Estou bem feliz mesmo, fazendo uma coisa que eu
amo e quero para o futuro. Quero agradecer a todos os meus apoiadores,
ao meu treinador e aos meus pais, que estão me incentivando muito a
seguir na carreira”, comemorou Carolina, que está com 14 anos.
A
última final do evento também foi marcada por uma disputa acirrada.
Mateus Herdy entrou na água empolgado com o grande desempenho, mas
acabou em quarto lugar. Leonardo Barcelos, que no ano passado havia
vencido na iniciante nessa mesma praia, repetiu o feito na mirim.
Eduardo Motta em sua segunda final, voltou a ficar em segundo lugar, com
o paranaense Fabio Martins em terceiro. “Gosto muito dessa praia. Estou
sem palavras. Foi emocionante, irado. Agora, é treinar mais, porque tem
duas etapas e quero ser campeão geral e defender o Brasil lá fora”,
vibrou Leo, de 14 anos.
O
Rip Curl Grom Search 2016, apresentado por Guaraná Antarctica, terá a
próxima etapa na emblemática Praia de Itaúna, em Saquarema, nos dias 20 e
21 de fevereiro, e a grande final na badalada Praia de Maresias, em São
Sebastião, nos dias 5 e 6 de março. Os campeões do ranking na mirim e
na feminina representarão o Brasil na final internacional do evento, em
2017, com passagens aéreas e hospedagem pagas pela Rip Curl.

Entre os dias 27 e 30 de janeiro, o Iate Clube de Santa Catarina
organiza a 27ª edição do Circuito Oceânico da Ilha de Santa Catarina. A
competição, considerada como uma das três maiores do país, terá um peso
ainda maior em 2016, pois além dos títulos da competição os velejadores
de ORC e RGS disputam também o Campeonato Brasileiro das categorias.
Participam da competição, além das classes ORC e RGS, embarcações de IRC, C30 e HPE-25. Durante os quatro dias de evento estão previstas uma regata longa e cinco barla-sota, sendo que uma das regatas barla-sota pode ser substituída por uma média. Todas as disputas estão previstas para início ás 12h, na raia de Jurerê, exceto no dia de regata de percurso longo, que terá sinalização de partida a partir das 11h.
“Nós teremos uma quantidade muito boa de embarcações, mas mais do que isso, teremos uma qualidade muito boa. Por ser um Brasileiro de ORC e RGS esperamos um nível técnico altíssimo. Eu já participei de todas as edições do Circuito Oceânico e acredito que esse evento tem tudo para ser um dos mais disputados entre todos já realizados”, explica o comandante Marcelo Gusmão, que já venceu o Brasileiro de ORC por seis vezes e esse ano tenta, à frente do Itajaí Sailing Team, mais um título nacional.
Inclusive, o Itajaí Sailing Team tem uma árdua missão pela frente. Atual bicampeão da competição na classe ORC, o carioca Ângela Star já confirmou presença na competição e vem atrás de mais um título. Vice-campeão na edição passada, a equipe de Itajaí protagonizou um duelo acirrado com a embarcação do Rio de Janeiro e em 2016 a disputa promete ser ainda mais equilibrada com a presença de mais equipes.
Além do Ângela Star, a edição de 2015 teve como campeões os catarinenses Zeus Team (C30) e Flash Best Fellow (RGS) e o gaúcho Tereza (HPE-25). A expectativa da organização é de que aproximadamente cinquenta embarcações participem do Circuito Oceânico.

A previsão de falta de ondas para o próximo final de semana, 23 e 24 de maio, forçou o adiamento da primeira etapa do Circuito ASN Compão / Secretaria de Esporte 2015. O campeonato acontecerá em Itacoatiara no final de semana seguinte, nos dias 30 e 31 de maio.
Em consequência do ciclone da semana passada, que trouxe uma grande ondulação de leste para a costa do estado, se formou uma massa de ar que está impedindo a entrada de correntes vindas do sul. CHAMADA ÀS 7 HORAS - Assim como na segunda-feira, a primeira chamada da terça-feira foi marcada para as 7h00 no Postinho da Barra da Tijuca. Como em todos os dias, a comissão técnica do Oi Rio Pro se reúne para analisar as condições e decidir se a competição começa pela categoria masculina ou feminina, ou se será adiada novamente para aguardar por melhores ondas no Postinho ou no Meio da Barra, onde próximo ao Posto 6 está instalada a estrutura alternativa da etapa brasileira do Samsung Galaxy World Surf League Championship Tour.
Se a comissão técnica escolher iniciar o campeonato pela categoria masculina, a primeira bateria do Oi Rio Pro será entre o australiano Taj Burrow, o francês Jeremy Flores e o norte-americano Brett Simpson, com Kelly Slater já entrando no segundo confronto do dia, Gabriel Medina no quarto, Mick Fanning no quinto e no sexto Adriano de Souza estreia com a "lycra" amarela de número 1 do mundo. Se o início for pelas meninas, as primeiras a competir na Barra da Tijuca serão a norte-americana Lakey Peterson, a sul-africana Bianca Buitendag e a havaiana Alessa Quizon.

COLETIVA DE IMPRENSA - Está confirmada a coletiva de imprensa do Oi Rio Pro também na segunda-feira, 11 de maio, às 17h00 no salão do Royalty Hotel Barra, na Avenida do Pepê, 690, Posto 2 da Barra da Tijuca. O campeão mundial Gabriel Medina, os atuais líderes dos rankings mundiais, Adriano de Souza e a havaiana Carissa Moore, o vencedor da primeira etapa da temporada na Gold Coast, Filipe Toledo, o tricampeão mundial Mick Fanning, o onze vezes campeão mundial Kelly Slater e a cearense nota 10, Silvana Lima, vão compor a mesa para atender aos jornalistas.
CREDENCIAIS - Só participarão da coletiva de imprensa os jornalistas que já estiverem com a credencial de imprensa do Oi Rio Pro no braço. As credencias deverão ser retiradas durante o dia 11 de maio, segunda-feira, na seção de credenciamento na entrada da arena do evento no Postinho da Barra da Tijuca. É necessário apresentar um documento com foto para receber a pulseira, que será fixada pelo atendente obrigatoriamente no punho do jornalista. A credencial é pessoal, intransferível e insubstituível, não podendo ser retirada até o fim do evento.

O campeão mundial Gabriel Medina, o líder do ranking 2015, Adriano de Souza, o vencedor da primeira etapa da temporada na Gold Coast, Filipe Toledo, o onze vezes campeão mundial Kelly Slater, o tricampeão Mick Fanning, a bicampeã mundial e líder do ranking atual, Carissa Moore, e a cearense nota 10, Silvana Lima, vão estar atendendo os jornalistas na coletiva de imprensa do Oi Rio Pro. Depois do inédito título mundial conquistado por Gabriel Medina no ano passado e do ótimo início de temporada dos brasileiros nas três etapas da Austrália, a expectativa é de praia lotada todos os dias no Postinho da Barra da Tijuca.
"Já estamos monitorando um grande swell (ondulação) a caminho, teremos que ficar atentos às condições do vento, mas as ondas devem entrar com um bom tamanho e vai ser divertido", disse o comissário da World Surf League, Kieren Perrow, responsável pelo anúncio da decisão da comissão técnica a cada dia do Oi Rio Pro. "Hoje (segunda-feira) já vimos que não haverá mudanças na condição do mar ao longo do dia, vai se manter assim com ondas pequenas, então o evento ficará "off". Vamos ficar de olho como estará amanhã (terça-feira). Se o vento não ficar muito forte e o swell subir um pouco, poderemos ter boas ondas para começar o evento".
O Oi Rio Pro vai acontecer num momento especial da história do surfe brasileiro. Em 2015, a capital carioca está completando 25 anos sediando etapas válidas pelo título mundial e a data coincide com as festividades dos 450 anos de fundação da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. E esta também será a primeira vez que Adriano de Souza vai competir com a camisa amarela de líder do ranking mundial, posição conquistada com a vitória no Drug Aware Margaret River Pro.
Antes, Mineirinho já havia perdido no desempate o título do Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach na final contra o australiano Mick Fanning e parado nas semifinais do Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, que terminou com Filipe Toledo festejando a sua primeira vitória no Samsung Galaxy World Surf League Championship Tour. Além dos sete integrantes da elite dos top-34, a "seleção brasileira" do CT competirá reforçada pelo catarinense Alejo Muniz e os paulistas Alex Ribeiro e David do Carmo.
"Estou bem tranquilo, já estou aqui no Rio há dez dias treinando para este campeonato e agora é aguardar o dia que vai começar mesmo", disse Adriano de Souza, que falou sobre defender a liderança do ranking no Brasil. "Este é o sonho de todo surfista, é o objetivo de cada um de nós estar na frente do ranking e graças a Deus eu estou num momento muito bom e estou na expectativa de conseguir mais um bom resultado aqui. Já dei uma caída aqui bem cedinho, as ondas estão realmente fracas hoje (segunda-feira), mas o trabalho não pode parar".
